BENEFITS OF ISO 45001 CERTIFICATION
- Globalization: ISO 45001 puts your organization in an elite category of businesses, as it is an internationally recognized standard.
- Improvement in business performance: The implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System based on ISO 45001 reduces workplace illnesses and injuries, and, in turn, increases productivity.
- Best practice creation: It provides consistency and establishes “best practices” for occupational health and safety throughout the organization.
- Hazard & risk identification: Conducting risk assessments in a systematic manner, improve the quality of the assessment.
- Lower insurance premiums: Having a recognized system in place provides an apron for attracting lower insurance premiums.
- Improvements in efficiency: The implementation of an OH&S Management System contributes to the reduction of accident rates, absenteeism levels, and downtime, all of which improve the efficiency levels of internal operations.
- Establishment of a safe working environment: Promotes the safety of all persons being affected by the organization’s activities.
- Focus: A culture that focuses on the “prevention of problems” rather than on the “detection of problems” is much more effective and rewarding to employees.
- Continual improvement: Encourages continual improvement, e.g. the adoption of the “zero accident” concept.
2. Assessments Services
1. Risk Assessment :A risk assessment is a process to identify potential hazards and analyze what could happen if a hazard occurs. A business impact analysis (BIA) is the process for determining the potential impacts resulting from the interruption of time sensitive or critical business processes.
2. Quality Assessment: Quality assessment is the data collection and analysis through which the degree of conformity to predetermined standards and criteria are exemplified. If the quality, through this process is found to be unsatisfactory, attempts are made to discover the reason for this.
3. Environmental Risk Assessment: An environmental risk assessment (ERA) is a process for evaluating how likely it is that the environment may be impacted as a result of exposure to one or more environmental stressors, such as chemicals, disease, invasive species, and climate change.
4. Safety Assessment: The safety assessment process is a methodology to evaluate aircraft functions and the design of systems performing these functions to determine that the associated hazards for those functions have been properly addressed. The safety assessment process is qualitative and can be quantitative.
5. Sustainability Assessment: Sustainability assessment (SA) is a complex appraisal method. It is conducted for supporting decision-making and policy in a broad environmental, economic and social context, and transcends a purely technical/scientific evaluation.
6. Carbon foot printing: A carbon footprint is the total greenhouse gas emissions caused by an individual, event, organization, service, place or product, expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent
7. GHG verification and Validation: Climate change is a global issue which is becoming more important on the agenda of governments, businesses and individuals. To address this issue progressive organizations around the world have begun reporting their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for reasons such as risk management, cost reduction, improved reputation, and attracting socially responsible investment. GHG emission reporting is not only a regulatory requirement in some countries but is also a requirement of larger corporates around the world who are managing their supply chains sustainably. By reporting and managing your carbon footprint you are preparing your organisation for the legislative and customer demands of tomorrow.Carbon Management (GHG Validation & Verification) is all about having effective formalized systems in place to measure, minimize and mitigate (optional) a company’s carbon footprint. Basically an organization calculates its carbon footprint, minimizes its carbon emissions where possible, and if it wishes to claim carbon neutrality it offsets the residual balance (one way to do this is by purchasing credible carbon credits).
8. Life cycle assessment: Life cycle assessment is a cradle-to-grave or cradle-to-cradle analysis technique to assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product's life, which is from raw material extraction through materials processing, manufacture, distribution, and use.
9. Water Neutrality Assessment: The concept of “water neutrality” looks at whether demand for water by new housing and commercial development could or should be offset in the existing community by making existing homes and buildings in the area more water efficient.
